[Thoughts]

June has been a beautiful month.

I am thankful...
for coffee and friends that take me to new places.
for colorful books, old men in bookstores, and the inspiration to write poetry.
for THESE PEOPLE and being able to spend a day with them.
for quiet nights with my lights, curtain, and pens.
for incredible skies on my way to work that give me glimpses of Aslan when I'm feeling blinded.
[Also, for C.S. Lewis and all of the beauty, truth, and magic his books have shown me.]
for being excited to be dressed up and feeling good about being girly.
for hilarious cousins slash best friends that I can play cards, eat candy, go swimming, go hiking, and just laugh with.
for incredible discoveries and adventuresome roommates.
for IHOP music that reminds me of incredible truth and for believing this enough to finally tell my best friend what really happened.
for little hands and beautiful truth.
(I can have four kids as long as I "just put my heart in it!")
for mail!
for sunny-day solo excursions that allow me to hike, climb, run, and swim...
and for the angels that kept me safe while I was doing it all.
for kiddos that steal my heart and teach me to laugh again.
for long-awaited, deliciously-created, and hand crafted dinners.
for stillness, solitude, and finally hearing His voice.

[Thoughts]

Life lately has been one to be so thankful for. Living in Eau Claire this summer has brought me a great deal of peace and joy.

I am thankful...
for the start of a new journey with food.
for the opportunity to do what I love most: COMPOST!
for taking time to praise Jesus for how greatly he has healed me this year.
for friends who let me borrow their longboards and friends who have the patience to go with me.
for Toby Paxton, the newest addition to our family.

for spontaneous fireworks that get my calm and collected roommate giddy and excited.
for $1 drug rugs and the drug rug club.
for an afternoon of attempting this...
only to accept that I am better at this. #bakingisbetter #weallhaveourgifts
for hikes, warmth, and picnics at one of my favorite places

for finally being able to cross off number 3, safely.
for slow mornings and the patience to make paleo pancakes.

Highlights include: writing letters to Pine Ridge, restorative conversations with Justin, making a "can do if desired" list, being only a short bike ride away from Lexie's comforting touches and words, day-long shenanigans with new friends, going to the farmer's market, embarking on Gilmore Girls with the roomie, reading the Chronicles of Narnia, and having slow mornings spent in bed, by the windows, or just cooking and listening to music.
